OWCT 2023 AGM

The 2023 Annual General Meeting of the OWCT was held at Whitestone City on Wednesday 26 April. Chairperson Graham Clark welcomed a capacity crowd, including Mayor Gary Kircher and a number of Waitaki District Councillors.

Long time heritage supporter and ex OWCT staff member Faye Ormandy was surprised and delighted to be presented with a life membership by chairperson Graham Clark. Faye's name is synonymous with heritage throughout the Waitaki district.

Graham was then presented with a framed John Baster model of the Harbour Board building in recognition of his nearly five years as OWCT chair (and also his life-time commitment to heritage in the Waitaki.)

Our guest speaker was Geoff Gabites, owner of Cycle Journeys, newest OWCT tenant at 6 Harbour Street. He entertained the meeting with stories of his adventurous and entrepreneurial life. Geoff is delighted to have the opportunity to situate his business in Harbour Street, He congratulated the OWCT on what has been achieved in the past 35 years and looks forward to being part of what happens next.
