Our vision is to ...

To position Oamaru as a premier heritage destination by conserving New Zealand’s finest and most complete collection of Victorian mercantile buildings within the Heritage Precinct.

To do this we need your help!

With sixteen heritage buildings, and over 8000 square metres of roof and 12,500 square metres of floor space we need your support to continue to conserve, restore and maintain this important part of our
heritage.

Please help us do this.

You can make a donation.

Each building owned by the Trust has its own unique history, character, and charm. Preserving, restoring, and maintaining these buildings requires significant ongoing investment.

Your support enables the Trust to continue this important work.

With in the Heritage Precinct you will find many ways to donate alternatively you can deposit your donation into this account:

01-0964-00061019-001 with the reference DONATIOM

All donations received are held in our legacy fund and are used exclusively for the restoration and maintenance of our buildings.

You can leave a bequest.

We welcome all gifts, large or small.

You don’t need a lot of money to leave a gift to the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust. Any financial donation to our Legacy Fund will be appreciated and used wisely.

Money from bequests are particularly valuable to us for maintaining and interpreting our heritage properties and maintaining our collection of historic and precious items.

Remember, gifts left to charities in wills are exempt from any inheritance or capital gains tax.

There are four main types of gifts you can leave to a charity. Talk to your lawyer about what suits you and your estate best.

Bequests: a gift of property or money given through a will following someone's death.

Residual: The remainder of your estate after considering your loved ones.

Pecuniary or specific: A specified gift which can be money, property or stocks and shares.

Whole estate: This comprises your entire estate and is usually left by those without beneficiaries or those wanting to achieve something very significant.

If you wish to talk to us directly regarding a possible gift
(either under your will or during your lifetime)
