The Big Muffin Serious Band

Based in the tiny Waikato hamlet of Te Pahu, The Big Muffin Serious Band have been creating their finely-crafted ukulele-based musical mayhem for over 36 years. Described by Olde Music Express Magazine as “…a cross between Country-punk, Skiffle and Barbershop Rock…”, the Muffins play a curious mix of popular hits from the 1920’s, loving parodies of rock anthems, and musical oddities from all round the world.

A band with a deep-south country blues flavor led by the inimitable Tahu Mackenzie, whose free-spirited musical passion gives the band its unmistakable focal point.
